Black Eyed Susans

Tuesday night Emma and I were roaming around on the 4wheeler when I spotted several dense patches of Black Eyed Susans. So last night I tried to use them as a setting to take some Emma pics. I was envisioning more of a wider angle shot where she is standing among the flowers but that wasn’t in the cards. I did however get a few cute pics.

Generally, my 35mm lens is not ideal for closeups but these came out pretty good. The reason it’s not ideal is because in order to get a closeup I have to be awkwardly close to the subject, and if the subject is moving (as Emma often is), it makes focusing a considerable challenge, especially if I am shooting with the aperture wide open (which I typically do).
