A few photos from our Colorado trip seemed best suited for black and white…
I climbed a mountain one morning and found myself shrouded in clouds at various times, creating a kind of mystical effect.
The broken clouds created scattered pools of light on the landscape. These jagged cliffs are above Blue Mesa Reservoir. The cliffs probably have a name, but I don’t know what it is.
Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The scale of this canyon is lost in the photo, but it was quite impressive in person. Again, the scattered clouds made for interesting patterns of light.
A beautiful valley around the Cimarron River near Silver Jack Reservoir.
A twisted Juniper tree that is probably very old.
