So yesterday at lunch I decided that i needed to try my hand at gardening again. I had some success growing chili peppers and corn in suburban Kansas City, but last year I wasn’t so lucky. The few seeds that did sprout died shortly after. I attribute it not to my gardening skillz, but rather to going out of town and not taking precautions to see that they were well taken care of.
Anyways… I have set out to find some rare and exotic plant species to grow. Plants that no one has probably ever seen. One of the more notable items I purchased was this… the Asclepias Physocarpa, more commonly known as the “Family Jewels Tree”. It’s native to South Africa and grows seed pods that look dangerously similar to everyone’s favorite male reproductive organ. I will be sure to keep everyone updated on the progress of my very own scrotum plant… err, i mean asclepias physocarpa.
