Today is the first day of the year that I would describe as miserable, in terms of the weather. It’s one of those days where it feels like a hot steamy batch of air from Louisiana has somehow become lost and ended up out here and now it just waiting around getting stale and sucking the life out of any nice breeze that could potentially be coming off the great plains. Feels like the air needs to let out a big t-storm and just be done with it. Kind of how when you have one of those phantom sneezes that just won’t come.
There are a lot of things I like about Missouri, including the extreme variety of weather we experience. But days when both the temp and the relative humidity have values in the 90s is something I could just do without.

I got to help unload 70 cases of Ensure from a semi-truck and dolly them into my garage this day. I was still in work khakis and polo, and it took all of 20 seconds for me to work up a sweat- one that made it through my undershirt in about 1 minute. I felt sorry for the truck driver that was dripping as well.
