My newest lens is the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens. It’s by far the trickiest to use lens I have, but I’m gradually getting the hang of taking photos of very small things with a depth of field being at times only a few millimeters.

When flowers started coming out, the bees followed and found this to be a good opportunity to try my luck on some bugs. Up until now I’ve only taken photos of plants with this lens.

Another side feature of this lens is that the max aperture of 2.8 allows for some pretty shallow depth of field and nice portraits, provided I have sufficient room to back far enough away from the subject. So I’ve enjoyed the new lens and look forward to trying it out on more things as time goes by.
