Norway Spruce

missouriThis weekend was perfect weather for planting some trees. And since planting stuff is among my favorite of past times I took advantage of the situation by planting loads of seedlings in various areas of the property. Most of the trees I planted were Norway Spruce, however I also tossed a few sweet gum and shortleaf pine into the ground as well.

I planted a couple rows of these darlings not only because I like them, but also to eventually block out some eye sores across the street. One is your typical rural redneck conglomerate of trailers, old boats, even an outhouse. The other is a nice home, along with a few other well kept properties which aren’t at all unsightly, but I would still rather look at a row of trees than structures, vehicles and lawn toys. The other half of the seedlings went in various other places.

All in all I estimate that I planted about 75 trees, and still have about 30 left to plant, which I hope to finish sometime this week.

  1. Hooray for trees!

  2. I am glad you are finally “sprucing” up the place.
