Going Up

south sisterTomorrow night I’m heading out of town. Once again it’s time for me and ITC’s bi-annual mountain climb. This trip will take us to the pacific northwest, where we will attempt to ascend “South Sister” (pictured to right), the tallest peak in the Three Sisters chain of mountains, and the third highest in Oregon. This mountain will be unique for several reasons:

  1. I have never been to Oregon.
  2. South Sister is a volcano.
  3. There are a number of glaciers on the mountain.

While Ian and I have taken on some pretty strenuous hikes before, I expect this will be the most challenging we’ve faced. I’ve been monitoring the weather forecasts lately, and as of now, all indications are that we’ll have a great day for climbing.
