Northeastern Cobalt

Yes, once again… another trip, another cobalt. But with a slight twist… this time it was blue! We both decided that we liked the red better. It was more of a purpleish blue. Kind of a weird color. At any rate, thanks to all (2) of you who guessed. And aunt sandy… who also guessed. But her guess doesn’t count because she saw it.

In case you aren’t up to speed… I went with Hannah to visit her fam in Connecticut, and we also spent a couple days in Maine, at her aunt and uncle’s house. I always enjoy visiting New England. There are several things I like about the northeast. Here are a few of them:

  • Trees. Lots of trees EVERYWHERE, even in cities. Sometimes you don’t even realize you are going through a town on the highway because there are so many trees.
  • Billboards, or lack thereof. You see almost no billboards along the highways, which is a welcome change from here. I could go on and on about this.
  • History. Stuff is so old and cool. The buildings are cool and you drive through towns that say “Settled in 1637″ or something ridiculous like that. I enjoy it. The rock walls everywhere would probably fit into this category as well.
  • You have mountains, forests, beaches, and cities all nearby.
  • The rude people. Actually… I really didn’t encounter very many rude people. Just an angry woman at a dunkin donuts parking lot. But I think she was angry before I looked at her the wrong way.
  • That reminds me… the last, and most important reason I like New England is dunkin donuts. They are plentiful, and always good.

In case you are wondering what the photo is… it’s a hill/mountain that Hannah and I climbed at Acadia national park. Probably one of the scariest climbs I’ve ever done, but it was well worth it and lots of fun. It was more or less vertical with a lot of iron bars used as hand holds. A bit scary at times, but the views were awesome. Plus, the sound of the ocean in the background was a plus. Acadia is definitely a nice national park.
