Mouse Trap

Lately I’ve been having some issues with an uninvited guest in my home. I never saw him, just his droppings. I finally had enough and set out some poison, which he quickly consumed, for 2 days straight. I thought maybe he was gone, but then out of nowhere yesterday I actually saw him scurry across the kitchen floor.

Later that night Kim and Diana were over, helping me break in the new ping pong table, and while washing some dishes, the mouse ran across the counter right in front of me and got cornered behind a scrabble board. Here is a play by play of what followed:

Ryan: WHOA!
Kim: What?
Ryan: There’s a mouse!
Kim: Where?
Ryan: In the corner behind the scrabble board
Kim: Let’s catch it
Ryan: Um, ok, and how do you suggest we do that?
Kim: With a bag
Ryan: OK, here is a target bag. I would love to see you catch that mouse with this bag.
Kim: takes bag and with Diana’s help, corners the mouse.
Mouse: freaks out and jumps into the air, landing in the vicinity of the bag.
Kim screams.
Diana screams.
I scream (you scream, we were all screaming for ice cream).
Both girls run around screaming, not sure what to do now that they actually have a live mouse in their possession.
We take the bag-o-mouse towards the river and deposit him in a field.

Now his fate is up to mother nature. Maybe he will be eaten by an owl, or maybe he will find a hot minnie-mouse and start a family. I really don’t care. All i know is that traps, poison, and cats are mere child’s play for a mouse compared to the Kim/Diana mouse assault squad.

  1. Oh, sweet! That’s an awesome story. Kim, Diana, you guys are my new idols. I’m impressed.

  2. You should ask Colby about his mouse hunting skills. He has a pretty good story. I don’t know if it is as impressive as the target bag though!

  3. Woah you have a ping pong table! (like how I ignore the bulk of the story) I love Ping Pong!!! Sure wish I could come and visit, but it isn’t my turn…
