Grab your pucks, faceguards, and band-aids… it’s time for this year’s 2007 Air Hockey Tournament of Champions! That’s right, for those of you who have been practicing all year in hopes to de-throne the reigning champion, Jimmy V – you’re time has come!
The magic date is Friday, Feb 9th at McCoy-Basement Arena. Registration will begin at 6:30pm, and play will commence at approximately 7:30 pm. You MUST be signed up by 7:15 to participate. This is so that we can create the bracket and assign the first round matchups.
Things you need to know:
The tournament is conducted using a double elimination bracket. That means you will play until you have lost 2 games.
Games will be 5 minutes each. Player with the highest score wins. In the event of a tie, a sudden death match will determine the winner.
If you are unhappy with the layout of the bracket, that’s too bad.
Admission is free, provided that you bring a snack or beverage. Otherwise its $25/person.
I reserve the right to change any rules as I see fit. All disputes will be settled by an approved tournament official at the time of the dispute. Here are the official rules.
Even if you do not care to participate, you are still encouraged to come and enjoy the fun. Entertainment, such as tv, games, food, foosball, music, etc will be available throught the night.
Please let me know if you plan to attend, so that I may begin preparing the potential bracket – as double elimination brackets can be fairly complicated with odd numbers of players. You can do this by email, phone or by leaving a comment on this page.
See you there!
